In light of Breast Cancer Awareness month, here is some helpful information on how and when to check yourself as with early detection, your chances of recovery are greatest.

breast tissue actually spans from the collarbone to below the breast and from the breast bone to your underarm area. when you feel your boobies you should be sure to follow a pattern that extends to these areas.

when feeling your boobies look for lumps or hardening in the breast tissue. you should also look for changes in shape, sores, and puckering or inflammation of skin anywhere on your boobies. nipple discharge or crust on the nipple are also things that should be brought to a clinician's attention.

it is recommended that you feel your boobies at the same time each month, preferably a week after your period. the most important thing is that you know what your boobies feel like so you know when a change occurs. if you notice a change, notify a clinician immediately.
